Before my Spyder burned down, I ran into some negative nellies also. The one that really got me was while crossing a long bridge over a river some guy in a pos small pickup rolls his window down(by...
Wow, very unprofessional! The comments were my favorite - it's interesting to read how folks minds work......:yikes:
The first oil change on these machines is "interesting" and takes a while. By the 3rd time you will have it done in 30 minutes - getting hex and star(torqs) sockets is a good investment and makes...
Wow, sorry and my thoughts are with you and yours...
Curious, did the guy that cut him off stop? Is his insurance taking care of this - or your buddies?
It has a remote sump - many bikes have the oil sump at the base of the motor....but, after the oil goes through the motor it is pumped back into the remote sump and recirculated. It should not read...
Government conspirasy?! :D
I can't believe JP would slam any type of bike :cus: -- many Spyder owners have several 2 wheelers in addition to the :spyder:
I will think 2X before going to JP for parts -- Mean cycles is faster...
I ran into several people that were negative about the Spyder - usually Harley types or in beat up vehicles - one that really sticks out in my mind - I was crossing a bridge over the American River...
Always use my earfuse esp. on the Spyder - there is alot of wind noise, let alone the exhaust.
I really like the look of this Spyder....but, I can't help but think of a Christmas tree bulb when I look at it.. :D
Wow, very cool -- but, you sure would be the first at the scene of an accident with this set-up....
I always ran the bungie cord under the seat to the top of the seat and closed it. - this way the seat can still be lifted.
I have State Farm for all my vehicles, home etc - When my Spyder burned up they were fast and very fair in my settlement. I had a pipe burst in my attic a couple weeks ago and they have been first...
Well it has been 2 weeks since my Spyder started on fire while I was driving it...
State Farm is really coming through for me - they are giving me more than I could have sold it for - and enough...
Thanks for all the kind words. I am going to miss that machine...My insurance company is going to total it (thank God - the fix would have been a nightmare) So tomorrow I am going to take off the...
I don't have pics yet. But the police and fire dept showed up and took several - so I will have some soon.
Its funny - my neighbor showed up (15 miles from home), my daughters boy friend showed...
I took a ride today and on the way home I smelled smoke then a little white smoke showed from the tank area....then black smoke and flames. I pulled over and saw my favorite toy go up in flames -...
2 brothers racing pipe w/o the P1 silencer is way loud and sounds great...I took it off and put on a Hindle because I got sick of the loud droning at highway speeds -
Wow, that must rattle like crazy while running! I have a Hindle - riding with it for about 3 thousand miles and no problems - your main problem is the rivets - you can replace them or use stainless...
Have not had one pop/backfire since putting it in 2 years ago - also stopped the surging I was experiencing -
had the high flo filter and 2 bros exhaust - now have the hindle and hi-flo -runs...
A band saw works real well also - you may have to make a couple cuts depending on how much you are triming and how deep the band saw is.
After your first time doing the oil/filter change and learning the procedure - it is a piece of cake. I can do it in less than 1/2 an hour now.
Well worth learning! You will save a bundle over the...
I would love to hear how the turbo works. Its been out for awhile now and yet no one has really said much about how it performs good or bad:dontknow: Or if it is worth the $5000....
Seeing the...
Nice idea!
I took mine off - but had to put one back on to support the Spal fan relay on the right side(radiator side). I think I will put this in to help keep the area and Spal unit cooler....
I hope all works out well. Please keep us posted on his progress. You and yours are in my prayers.
I had a 2 brothers single can on mine for about 20,000 miles - got sick of the loud sound even on slow acceleration and at highway speeds - I put a Hindle on and like the sound....just right, good...
At 1400 miles no oil changes have been missed - just potentially the 600 mile - the machine is brand new at 1400 miles -
Seems like a great deal to me.
I use car ramps to get the Spyder up and easy to get to - works great and much easier than jacking up. I have an ATV jack if I need to remove wheels or adjust the belt - but, The car ramps see more...
