Been out and far away again for another job assignment. Spent very little time around the SE5. During this off time period the Battery Tender was connected to the batery terminals.
Just started...
Rode the RS around the neighbourhood..., and in less than 5 minutes all hell broke loose again (minus the brake failure lights / warnings), and went into limp-mode.
Pulled the codes:
0 C0044

Battery is brand new... :ohyea:
Already tightened those connections up after finishing the brake job.
Battery tender has been connected continuously while not riding the RS.
Today, before cranking it up, I disconnected the...
Dear Ssd:
Did as you instructed me and..., lo and behold...: "No active fault codes". At that moment the RS was just parked, idling, with no lights / warnings showing.
I will ride it around...
Changed the rear brake-pads, bled the system, topped-off the reservoirs..., all this while having the battery disconnected (both poles).
The brakes' warnings (lights and messages) are now off...,...
It has been some time since I last posted in the forum.
Due to work and moving from one place to another, I have not been able to ride my 2009 SE5 for a long time.
Lately I have installed a new...
Only DOT 3 is available nowadays. Many riders just do not care about the type / quality of the fluid here. Way too many small Chinese motorbikes.
What about Castrol GT LMA Brake Fluid...?
I have been using regular DOT 4 fluid to refill the containers when the low levels trips the "brake failure" alarm; flashing in the dashboard.
It is now almost impossible to obtain DOT 4 type in...
I wonder if I can refill the containers, or replace the original brake fluid in my 2009 SE5, using Motul's RBF 600 Racing Brake Fluid, because here in the tropics temperatures are high all year long....
Cool...
Aluminum or stainless...? :hun:
Another replacement bottle cracked..., lasted just one year... :banghead:
Thinking of making an aluminum or stainless-steel tank... :gaah:
Last night I rode my 2009 SE5 over a street manhole without cover in a dark area of the street (not unusual in this country...)
When I saw it it, I swerved and I went over it in between the front...
I have notched mine, so the clamp finally does its right job.
That was so long ago that I cannot remember if I put some sort of gasket or sealant in the joint.
It does backfire from time to time,...
My 2009 SE5 has an alarm with a proximity sensor.
That has not prevented people to mess with the Spyder, even when the alarm first chirps and then finally sounds because they are way too close, or...
If I understand correctly, you have installed Bridgestone Potenza replacement tires in your Spyder.
If positive, could you please let me the know their specs, sizes, model, etc., etc.
Where I live,...
Bob, please enlighten me...
What is hydrostatic lock up...? :opps: Why rods and other sundry parts could have been damaged by hydrostatic lock up...?
I am guessing that the water inside the...
K&N filter was oiled properly, during preparations for the trip.
I guess that if not thru the foam filter, then the rain-water seeped thru the hole in the KewlMetal intake cover (top), where a bolt...
You mean the humongous OEM plastic air-box...?

Get well soon my friends...
I ride a 2009 SE5, with Hindle exhaust, KewlMetal intake, and some other mods. Went to a motorbike event this past week-end, some 350 Km. away from home. During the nights, my Spyder was parked...
Bought a replacement bottle last year and this week it just cracked (vertical cracks on the centerline, on the area where the internal baffle / reinforcement is glued / "welded" to the bottle).
So...
Scotty:
Speaking of "coughing back through the intake", and exhaust backfire...
I have a 2009 SE5 with a Hindle exhaust (liked the sound...), a KewlMetal air box (to get rid of the...
By the way..., I tried the sponge in the breather hose first...; but it got clogged, and the resulting built-up pressure inside the engine cases caused oil leaks thru the drive-shaft oil-seal and...
The oil blow-by still goes on, but routed directly into the throttle body..., not pooling in and spilling out of the huge air-box and onto the engine and radiator.
I had to install the KewlMetal...
Uuupsss..., sorry for the typo, I meant axles...
Anyway, just returned from running some errands (Honey Do's), riding on the SE5.
A bunch of guys were riding in the back of a pick-up truck....
From my experience with my 2009 SE5, I can tell you that it is a lot easier to find the leak after the engine has been started and it is fully warmed up. The cracks in my plastic bottle developed...
From a Facebook Spyder guy I have heard about a problem he has with the "frunk" lock cable.
He wants to know how to replace it, but I guess that the real question may be: How do I open the frunk...
It's been a while since I checked the forum.
I wonder where are now located the BRP service bulletins that were originally posted at the bottom of the main page.
I am looking for the Belt...
Hard to say without knowing the year, and whether the SE5 already came from dealer / factory with the coils' grounding trick installed or not.
Remove the left side red Tupperware and check...
