The he package is indeed magnetic but I have posted to oz and they all arrived
the box you see goes into another bubble wrap post pack for some protection and I tested magnetism after fully packaged and yes there was some pull evident
if I have to further wrap the pack then this will put it over the .5 kg magic figure,it's right on the borderline now....this will add to the cost of the product
so here's hoping it all goes well
i will look into better boxing re polystyrene when time permits but I am a FIFO worker and I needed to get these kits out to buyers a sap so was really cramped for time
thanks. Russ and brenda
hi ann
question not so silly
this was raised by noboot...you could pm him to get his answer(think it was his radio tho)
JRWW may have had issue with his senna but not sure (i posted his findings in feedback)
Peter Aawen gave an informed post on how the maggots cant interfere with anything
my answer is to get rid of the CB and keep the maggots:D
But if you do buy and there is a problem re interference or any other thing youre not happy with then return them for refund
thanks for raising the issue:thumbup:

Hi Russ!
After watching the installation video enough times to feel comfortable about the process; I only have one question:
Can you describe (Or take pictures of...) how the tether actually hooks to the mirror?
It's the one thing that Ihaven't got fifured out yet... :dontknow:
Bob
This video may well answer your question
https://youtu.be/El3zoQXBQjk
He has a few videos Ref the Magic Mirrors - Do a search on you tube for Russell Culley
one thing i forgot to mention
when affixing the tether to the top tupperware screw
the left side comes off the screw at 7 oclock
the right side tether comes off at 5oclock
just route both tethers in front of the top magnet and low
if the tether is too short it wont allow the two bottom spigots to enter
the tether has to be kept short so mirror dosent strike the tupperware if it separates from the bike
also if its too long it can sit on top of the magnet reducing its pull
may be better to leave the tether til last
fit the mirror and try it a few times and when youre happy its good then fit the tether
thanks russ
I see how you have the tether hooked to the bike; I'm curious about it's attachment to the mirror body... :dontknow:
Or does it just snap onto the wiring; right below the connector?
Attaching the tether to the mirror will become fairly obvious when you have both in your hands. The tether has a two pronged clip on the mirror end that you hafta squeeze together & slip into the small hole that is already there on the mirror, then release the clip so the prongs can spring out & grab the sides of the hole & it's all done. Fitting the body side of the tether is just a matter of slipping the loop under the indicated screw head & swinging it into the appropriate 7 or 5 position before tightening that screw up.
It's all pretty self evident, fairly straightforwards, & not in anyway difficult once you can actually see the bits rather than trying to imagine or exrapolate from the vids exactly what they look like/how they function or connect - so it's probbably best to wait until you've actually got the kit & have had a look at it and you've watched the vids with the appropriate bits in hand before you start getting too worried or the least bit concerned about how difficult anything might or might not be - no-one that I am aware of has had the slightest difficulty in installing these Mirror Magics yet. That's not saying no-one will ever have difficulties; after all, we all come from different backgrounds & have different skill sets, but I'm pretty sure that fitting these is straightforwards enough that it's certainly not worth worrying about any of it BEFORE you actually get the kit & can watch the vids with each of the appropriate parts & the instructions in front of you. Russ will be available (by phone?) to help if necesary & if you get desperate you can always drop me a message/email & then read the resulting epic reply! I might even be able to do some individually tailored pics, but like Mike/Blueknight, only if absolutely necessary!
The first batch shouldn't be too far away by now, & then most of your questions will be answered or at least made redundant. And then I'm sure it won't take you too long to fit them up, after which there's a good chance that you'll spend some time just pulling your mirrors off the Spyder & letting them click back on just cos you can - if you're anything like the rest of us!! I did suggest that Russ might want to add that 'playing time' to his fitting instructions, but he thought that might be going a tad too far?!? I dunno why, everybody who's got em so far has done it!! ;):ohyea::clap:
