A Curious Yank... Any Spyders in Queensland?

I'm curious to know...about Spyders in Queensland? If any?

I had an ancestor immigrate to the Sunshine State in the mid-1800s, to the gold mines west of Cairns. (We don't know his eventual fate.) Having been to Brissie, and the surrounding area, I'm naturally curious.

Yes there are a bunch of us in the southeast, probably 40 or more and then others near Cairns and Townsville. There is a dealer in Townsville.
