Looks clean and complete. Much better than the flat iron of the
original saddle bag mounts.
Nice job.

Great mods. I think you're going to be a grate asset to this forum!
LOVE IT WHEN SOMEONE IS NOT AFRAID OF GETTING BITTEN BY A SPYDER!
is it just me, or is there a considerable amount of talent here on this board. I wish I had the mind to come up with some of the stuff you guys do...Wow...just WOW:clap:
And add a little powder coat:

Next is to add aux turn signals on the panniers before I button it all up.
Rewired up the lights adding turn signal strips for better visibility, then reassembled it all with loctite.

NIce work.
OK, now that the majority of the mechanical mods are done, a little cosmetic to go with it. The pannier panels were black, and the top case panels were flat silver. Time to make them look the part.
Original Painted panels:

Add a bit of primer:

Coat one, then two of color, then two coats of clear.

I'm going to let them dry overnight, then install them tomorrow.
And finished. I think the color match is dead on, and the shine pretty good. I have to let the paint cure, then I can polish it to a mirror shine. Then I have to polish the rest of the bike to match!

That looks great!! You're hired! I'll be contacting you when I'm back in town
Great job Jim! Where did you get the paint from?
Thanks, it came out well.

I added a dual zone Heat Troller to the ST-S today. I like to control the gloves separate from the jacket. I also added waterproof plugs for both with it. I used a replay so they would go off with the key.

Gerbing, Warm & Safe, First Gear, nearly any manufacturer uses these plugs, and the Heat Troller works with all of them. I have a First Gear Jacket and Gerbings gloves, and they use the same connectors.
I get this kit here: http://www.warmnsafe.com/dual-mounte...ler-old-style/
I have this kit on my BMW and have installed at least a dozen of them on a variety of bikes.

Works great.
If you use the orange plug, it is for air suspension I think, and the red and black wires have switched power and the right connectors if you pull them out of the plug, it is a dead easy install.

Ignore the Posi-Tap. I am using that red hot wire to activate a relay for my heated gear, also.
Great thread Jim. I'm going to shamelessly rip-off what you did when I install my new driving lights over the winter.
Major  sir!
Fantastic JOB... I like your bags better than my Givi bags and I like the mounts better.
Way to go on your project.
Dave
So after a couple of weeks have you had any problems with that USB port? I read the reviews of it on Amazon and a couple of people mentioned it wasn't suitable for USB-C applications as the internal components aren't up to the advertised rating.
There's also a variation that includes a voltage readout between the USB ports.
