Anyone know of source, online or otherwise, for the black torq head screws used to hold body panels on Spyder.
I'd take one of them to a Home Depot, Ace Hardware, or Lowes...
See if you can match it up with something that they've goy.
Most decent hardware stores carry them, maybe Lowes, or Home Depot

When I purchased extra screws for my 2008, Lowe's, Home Depot, Ace didn't have them in a torx for that specific size, and black. Maybe now they do.:dontknow:
There are a number of online dealers for Spyder parts. You can probably get them from one of them. They are not a commonly available screw.
:agree: and many autoparts stores carry them as well as the push pins...
match the thread and length and get whatever type driver style you want. Who says they gotta be torx? Just a thought....but I guess if ya wanna stay consistent.....
I don't understand why not get them from the dealer. I do like consistency, and was willing to spend the premium price for the screws. If I remember right, I purchased 5, and still have all (5) of them from 2009. I guess for those that use ziplock bags for their gps, consistency is not priority, and that's fine too.
When I got a custom license plate frame I wanted two more torx bolts exactly like the license plate bolts on the bike. I bought 'em on line from BRP. Yes, they were more expensive than a hardware store brand if I could get 'em but I'm kind of anal about stuff like that when it comes to the Spyder.
I went to the dealer. If you have a relationship with them they may give you a few like they did me. Otherwise they are expensive. I prefer not to have different heads.
Although the black bolts are Stainless Steel
I tend to replace mine with Stainless Steel Button Head Allen key flange bolts
These have a washer built in so I don't need to use a black washer and a bolt
Most of them are the metric size M6 x 16 or 20mm in length
Most have been purchased via e bay and with free postage and in various quantities work out at quite a reasonable price
There are 2 types A2 and A4 Stainless Steel A4 being the marine grade
You can also find other types of Bolts, Washers & Nuts etc
