I would like to replace mine but it seems they are on back order until October 2021. I'm just wondering if it's possible to repair the one I have? There is some oil on it. Any thoughts?

BlueKnight...Yes. CheapCycleParts say it may be here 14 Oct. Shops in my area say the same. However it does appear that many CanAm ORV's use the same item.
Call a dealer you trust. If they don't have the part in inventory, ask them to pull up the list of dealerships that have the part in stock. I drove an hour and picked one up thanks to my usual dealer doing the part search for me.
According to my service manual other than having a multimeter to test the camshaft position sensor there is not much one can do to repair it. It's a test and replace if out of spec item.
How many miles on these bikes when they fail?
My 2014 RTS has close to 40,000 miles, still on the the original...But I do carry a NEW spare...larryd

Where on the :spyder2: is this sensor located??? I'll assume ( I hate to do that ) that it's on the cylinder head on the left side.
It's actually on the right side just a little ahead and inboard of the oil filter canister. See the picture below.
.
Thank you sir. I just may order one to keep on hand.
Here we go!! The part Number 420664049 is the 4th part # for this cam sensor. most BRP units have it, From the Spyder's to OHV's and SEA DOO'S and SKI DOO'S
My dealer has 2 special ordered for me but pointed me to one in the middle of Wisconsin, SPOKEN FOR, so I'm # 3 on the list for that one.
The sensor fault code is PO340 and your Spyder will go into Limp mode. I rode mine 400+ miles home at regular speeds last year

Was reading on the FB group, apparently there is now aftermarket versions of these sensors, but oem is superior.
Have not dealt with this myself, merely sharing information.
I got 20k out of mine on a 17rtl.Drove 500 miles home bc no dealer nearby had one.I got mine from cheapcycleparts.com.
:chat: So did you make the necessary repairs?
Or was the issue repaired by the Dealer? ......
I put one in for a friend yesterday, It's a tight fit to get at it. 8mm open end-box end wrench, had to use both ends.

12-2-21 UPDATE, Just located 1 sensor in Canada that will be the spare.
Going to be a trick to get it into the US
Canadian Can Am dealers cant ship into the US
WSM 004-520 Is the after market sensor that will work, But you will have to install yourself.

Just curious if there are any updates about the 'Camshaft Sensor'.
