We are looking forward to high 50's in the next couple days. But summer is coming. Will it be a "normal" one (two or three 70 degree days), or will it be a "scorcher." Several days in the 80's.
Thanks for posting the tips for all to read. :yes:The information is good.
 That was a VERY informative article; Thanks!
Although I STILL think that a hammock, and a pitcher of Margaritas does a pretty good job of keeping the heat at a manageable level... :D
Took a short cut to Fellipo's Pizza Grotto, 150 miles in the low 90's...but now home and it's much better at 88°...:roflblack:
 for the link...it's the way we ryde...
Thank you for the link, very interesting and informative for a newbie ryder like me.
Up here in Vermont it has been rainy, cloudy, the temps in the 50's.
We usually get the very hot weather( 80's/ 90's) in June, or July, or Aug. Deanna
Thank you for sharing this information. it was hot today and I felt it...got home and stood in a cold shower....well warm the cold water is now warm...that's Arizona for you....thanks again.
An easy, albeit pricey, answer to the high heat is Veskimo. http://www.veskimo.com/body-cooling-vest-products.php
It really does work as advertised.
If possible, use block ice. Lasts longer. Although finding block ice is hit and miss. Depending on what you use as an insulation jacket, you get about 2 hours of cool. Just about one gas stop to another. And you do need an undershirt as the vest gets pretty cold at the beginning of use. I've been using one for about 5 Summers. It is the same system that is used by astronauts to cool their entire body. I think it's for ryding one up and putting the ice box behind on the seat. That's just me. If you're clever, you could work it out otherwise.
Rather than reply to PMs looking for this link, I'm just posting to make this visible again. Summer heat is here!
I was told last year by my dealership that a biker died last summer after riding all day in summer heat, wearing a leather vest with jeans and boots, and drank coffee as he rode.

That's a great read. We are headed for 120 degrees here next week. When it gets this hot, (110+) there just isn't any way to keep cool. Long periods outside air conditioning and rides of more than just a few miles are out of the question.
