I took that train ride when I was down there last July. A word of advice, you might want to bring a little cushion along for your tushy. Those seats can get a little hard after a while. But it's nice leisurely trip so it's a good way to give your feet a little bit of a rest.

sorry, this is taking you back the the main screen, not the newsletter.
Sad news, the Sugar Shack on hwy 385 burned to the ground last night.
Just an fyi to pass on. We have 2 seasons in South Dakota, winter and road construction.

Unfortunately this is the main way to get from the northern hills to the central and southern hills. Options are taking Hwy 85 to Newcastle WY then into Custer, or take either Nemo rd or Hwy 44 into Rapid, then Sheridan Lake road back to 385…
Fortunately coming from Utah that wont cause a problem but thanks for the warning for those coming from the East
Last week I emailed Michele Pierce, the coordinator for the rally. I asked how many had registered. At this time there are 190 registered. And it is not even January! Looks like it will be a big crowd.
Adding to the list of folks that'll be attending this year. It'll be my first time at the D3WR. Looking forward to it.
Never been to Sturgis, but our club has made 3 trips to Custer to ride the roads in Septembers over the years. It'll be my first visit on my Spyder.
I'll be there this year. I hope. Was all set to go last year and had to back out at the last minute. ;)
Reservations are made anyway!
Just a reminder to new posters to this thread. The original poster of this thread "Greg Kamer" is now riding wingman in the heavens.
T.P.
We are signed up - first time at the rally. Looking forward to the canyon rides and other Spyder riders. We'll be trailering from Colorado. Staying at the Travelodge. For those of you having stayed there, where can you park the pickup and trailer. When I made reservations, was told parking was available for such, but on google maps can only see a parking structure.
See ya there. Oh - in one of these threads someone mentioned a possible SpyderLovers get-to-gether. That would be cool.
Thanks Tango.
My sweetheart and I are going. It will be part of our cross-country adventure. We went to the rally in 2021 and had a great time.
From the latest newsletter. Looks like more vendors on board
Thinking about attending (depends on how well my new knee is doing) but have a question:
Six days seems a bit long. Can we show up, say, Tuesday afternoon and depart Friday?
Thanks.
