I just now started reading back into this thread and found the struggle that has been a part of your lives. Every day of this life, in some way, is a struggle for the Christian. Heaven is our ultimate destination because of what Jesus has done for us all. We are all just riding through. Continue holding on to him. Remember, God knows the number of days given to each of us, for he knit us together in our mother's womb. He's in control of all things... even those things that are sad and hard to understand. Continued prayers for strength and comfort to find you.

This is a very sad situation. You know her wishes. You are doing the right thing. Respect and courage.

Praise report for Kathy 9/25 - I did not go up today. I felt that I needed to give Kathy's children as much time with her as they could have. So I am sure that went well. I have verified with her MD's that we will start at 12 noon tomorrow. If possible, we will come to you live on here as we do her healing and going home prayer. Got to give her a chance to say goodbye to all of her friends. She may of may not have much motor skill so she may not be able to do her customary thumbs up, and if that is the case, we will try for a smile and a nod. Kathy cannot Thank you each enough for the prayers, beautiful cards, the shawls, beautiful quilts, and blankets. One of her good friends even sent her a favorite bracelet. You know some of the less understanding folks would think of this outcome as a failure; that God let her down. That is not true. As Christians we are charged to pray for something as if it was. That doesn't mean what we pray for will be granted. It depends if it works into HIS master plan. You see, we only are able to view a very small part of GOD's PLAN. Someone gave me the best explanation of that I have ever heard and I will now give it to you. I encourage you to share it also.
God's plan is a large picture on a wall and we are standing so close to it that our nose is touching it. From that position, we can only see a very small part of the overall picture. That is why we should not despair when a prayer is not granted. We need to Believe that God, Our Father is good and has our best interests in His heart for us. That is where our faith comes in. I don't need to see that Kathy will go to Heaven. I know she will.
Please join us tomorrow at 12 noon (Indiana Time) as we say our final goodbye. The funeral will be at Jewell Ritman Funeral Home here in Columbus on Monday, October 1. Family calling will be from 10AM to 11:30AM and Friends Calling will be from 11:30AM to 1:00PM, when the funeral will start. Kathy will have her favorite Pastor Jerry Ballard from 7th Street Church of God officiating. In the event there is a rein delay (God's Spiritual Rein) pouring down and healing Kathy, we will modify the above schedule accordingly. I believe just as equally that God will receive Kathy into Heaven or heal her completely so that she astounds the doctors and nurse as she walks out of the place. Regardless of her outcome I will continue to praise His Holy Name. Please pray with me that God's Will be done!!
So very saddened to hear this... prayers to your family in this difficult time.
At this point I have no words,:pray::pray::pray:.

Doc, I don't know you or Kathy personally, but I wish you all the strength in the world.
About a month ago there was a story of parents signing papers to remove their brain-dead son off life support so doctors could harvest his organs, just to find their son wake up like nothing happened. He completely recovered.
I wish this miracle on Kathy, so you both can be happy again!
P.S. f#ck all deer!
P.P.S. ...and mosquitoes too!
Doc,
May her final flight be smooth with bright lights, music, and angles leading the way.
Im sad to say that my dear friend Kathy Humphreys is no longer with us but happy that she has gone to be with Jesus. Please pray for continued strength for Doc and his family in this very difficult time. They are 2 of the finest people that I have ever had the honor of knowing.

Kathy is no longer chained to this world. She has went home to Jesus at 4:40 PM I lay down in the uncomfortable lounger for a few minutes to rest my eyes. Probably 10 minutes later her nurse softly called my name, waking me up. I had been asleep. He told me it was almost time. I got up and watched and with 90 seconds, she was gone. Now, you can say what you want, but I think while I was sleeping I held her hand and walked her right to the Gates.God Bless everyone for everything!
Doc Kathy is at peace now, and I hope you will find peace in the fact that she peacefully transitioned to a much better place. You know she will be waiting for you when your time here is done. God Bless you and Kathy!
We will all be praying for Kathy, Doc, family and friends. Kathy is where she would want to be. You did the right thing Doc
Prayers for all who are mourning, but a reminder of how Jesus told his disciples "a little while" they wouldn't see him, then again they would. You have entered into the little while, until you see her again. So, alongside tears of sadness are the tears of joy from seeing one of God's people safely home with him. Blessings to you.
All I can say is: God bless.
