hope some of our RS ryders can clear that up... my RT has a little aerodynamic problem - but .. if BRP finds no other,
I would take a flight ( now 40.000 spy-kms)

Hmmm--- I find it odd that no one has run a 3 wheeled motorcycle above that speed on the flats yet. Certainly a V-rod conversion, Busa conversion, etc. could easily top this--- and a Spyder should be able to also.
Seth was darn close to that--- add the big bore kit and/or turbo and he would have broken it....
I would think a Spyder could do better also.
I talked to that guy down there, funny that they told me that the world record was 127mph but he has it with 121. Something is fishy.
My guess is that people race quads and snowmobiles and not Spyders. It would be cool to have one for the books but what would you get out of it?
I'm not sure if this guy created his own class or not but I don't see how you can hold a record and have one to beat in the same class. :dontknow:
I noticed they touted the 'Stability' of the Lehman trike. Wonder why that is?
I had a 1970 Kawasaki tripple that was the most unstable motorcycle I've ever ridden. And it didn't give me trouble until 130mph! It pretty much give me 'You're Going to Die" trouble at that speed! :yikes:
Wasn't the "Spirit of America" a trike?:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack: :(
john
Not sure how 'unmodified' and 'conversion' can fit in the same sentence.... ;-)
Sounds like they made up their own category and this was more about marketing than an actual record.
I'm 99% sure other trikes have gone faster than that - if the definition of trike is still 3 wheels.... ;-)
the first rich guy to show up on a T-rex will have a world record in the same category, they told me it just has to be three wheels that track in 3 spots(side cars and such track in 2)
Can't wait for Bonneville 2012...;)
2012: the year that Victory loses...
An H2 without a steering damper is like a grenade with the pin already out and lost...
But with a set of Dencos out back... :2thumbs: Sweet music!
I did 115 trying out my homebuilt windshield. The :spyder:wasn't red lined but I was. I was surprised at how stable it was.
when are we going to get to see it? and your other handcrafted mods?:clap::clap::nopic:my homemade exhaust, in avatar pic.
a good serviced GS/RS runs around 205 kilometers/hour ..thats 127,38 miles /hour..
(tested by myselve but without a video-clip ..) but here is a french-clip
my RT reaches around 110 miles/hour ...

I can hit 130 mph on a long straight away and I do it on a regular basis if I am late for work the spyder sm-5 tops off at exactly 130 mph redlined ( one trick is to tuck under the windshield at 125 and you will eventually hit 130)
So why weren't you at Bonneville getting made famous??:dontknow:
It is a bit different at an altitude of 4,200 feet, in the heat. It is also a bit more difficult when it is certified clocks instead of an optimistic speedometer, and setting a record requires averaging the runs made in both directions, within a short period of time. nojoke
Something about radar runs just kind of quiets some folks down...
The most my Gs Sm5 [08] would go Was 118, and that's on a 2/3 mile stretch ,
At about 110 it seems to start hitting an Aerodynamic wall. :dontknow:
