The SE is not an automatic transmission, it is simply a paddle shifter with an electronic clutch instead of a manual one. You have to upshift it, there is no automatic upshifting. I'm not trying to bash you or anything, just want to make sure new members who are thinking about getting a Spyder know the real deal about the SE transmission. When I was first looking at Spyders I told the dealer I wanted a manual one because I wanted full control of my shift points. He told me I should test ryde the SE to give it a chance before I made up my mind. I am truly glad that I did, as it is an upgrade that was well worth every penny of the $1500 cost. :thumbup:
