Anyone besides me thinking of a North to Alaska trip next summer? I'm in Vegas area and am very interested. :doorag:
Definitely would be the trip of a lifetime.

I have talked to Ann and she will help
It's a possibility. Depends on how our travel schedule works out.
Sounds fun but we are waiting till 2019 to do it. My wife and I will be looking for fellow adventures for the trip and will post a notice mid summer next year. If you make the trip this year I will be watching your post and asking for tips latter. We were slated to go the last time with Murphy Brown but work got in the way.
I would consider it!
It would be a strong possibility for me also. I was tempted to go with the Murphy Brown group and am sorry I did not. With Ann and Joe along what could
go wrong? Keep me in the Loop.
Jack
I was in the group that went in 2014. It really is a trip of the lifetime. I'm just glad I don't have to do it every year!
I'd advise you to preplan and reserve your lodgings along the way.
EasySuper, if you guys are going to camp along the way, be carful of the bears.
Jack,
I didn't say Joe and Ann were going, just that they would help me with the planning they used

A couple or 4 of us have been talking about it for a few months. Just talking so far, somewhere near the 4th of July. Add me on the list, I'll let the other yahoos know. Gotta warn you though, I'm the best looking of the bunch.....(my story)....
OOPS! OK, '15 it is!
I also liked Whitehorse and Muk Tuk Lodge a lot. Right up there with Barrow, Alaska, and Skagway! I actually liked the ride to/from Skagway better than Skagway. We were surprised to see a Spyder dealer in Whitehorse (right by the Wal-Mart). We wondered if we'd known, could they have planned an event with us to help promote reliability and adventure of Spydering!
For the folks planning for 2018 - get a list of participants ASAP, which model Spyders they ryde (to know their range between fuel stops), the number of miles per day each are comfortable doing per day, and their ryding style (easy-and-slow to bat-out-of-he!!) This info will help determine where to schedule overnight stops, group ryding rules, etc.
I too have been planning another trip North. Met a fellow yesterday on a BMW coming back from a YUKON trip and the Beaufort Sea, he and the bike were well road worn and now he's headed home to Illinois. Quite a trip! Whitehorse and Dawson are reason enough to go. Protection from gravel is a must! I would be interested in coming along with a group.
You folks are missing out if you do not contact MurphyBrown. She did the lions share of the planning of the routes, stops, activities of the 2015 trip. Also input from some of the others that went on the trip might be helpful.
Going to, and touring Alaska is not for the feint of heart. One dealer in Alaska--two locations--Eagle River & Wasilla--the next dealer in Whitehorse YK--about 1300 miles away. The rewards are great though. A good Spyder mechanic(s) as part of the pack--like Joe & Ann will make the trip more seamless.

Patti,
Are you thinking of making the trip again? :D
