My wife is complaining that the seat on her 2016 F3-T Limited Special Series is too hard. I purchased a Gel/Memory foam insert pad from Motorcycle Dave. When I took the pad and seat to a local auto upholstery shop they looked at it and said that the seat had gel in it from the factory? They did not remove the cover but said they could feel it. I did not have them do anything as they would have charged me to R&R the cover.
Does anybody have any info on whether they do indeed have gel in them?
Can't say for a fact but I doubt it very much . I know my 2018 F3 Limited doesn't have it .
Just got done redoing my 2016 limited seat with motorcycle daves gel and like it original seat does not have gel in it.:clap:
I haven’t pull my seat off to check yet but is the vinyl cover stapled on or glued? Any tips for installing? Was it a worthwhile project?

my 2016 Has some kind of foam, nothing similar to the Gel from Motorcycle Dave. That Gel insert was the best bang for the buck of the many farkles I have added to the machine. Thanks Dave

Tom was it difficult to remove the seat cover? Any issues you in countered. How long did it take you?

While I know that this will never feel as stable as a permanent install I suspect that this will be a viable alternative to taking the seat cover off and carving out an area for the gel pad. If it feels to squirrely I can always do the permanent install. Anyone else try this with Dave's gel pad? I know there are other gel pad seat cushions out there but Dave's seems like a quality product and a reasonable price. Since I already had the air hawk kicking around it seemed worth a try.

Glad to know before I tear off the cover as I do not have an air powered stapler. I would think most people don't. I will definitely try my alternative approach for a while before I tackle this as I have no need for an air powered stapler for anything other than this.

I like my Ultimate seat but wish It was as low as the stock seat But the Ultimate is also a few inches wider which offers more lateral support but sits about an inch higher.
