+1 on what Lew L said. Our left saddlebag on our '18 RTL needs to be pushed in as I pull the opening lever. It's not that much of a problem as it always comes open, but I probably should adjust the cable and lube it. Oh, well, I'll just call it an anti-theft feature.
+ 2 on what Lew says.
I have the same problem with my 2014RTS-SE6.

Read page 137 of your operator's guide.
Yep, +2 on Lew. My 14 stuck for a while when it was new and a gentle push with my knee popped it right open. A little lube seemed to cure the problem. A light whack with the heel of my hand makes sure both sides are latch 100%. You'll never forget that if you ever have one that pops open on the freeway. Thank goodness the dash lights up and goes crazy when that happens.
I recently sold my 2014 RT-S with 188,000+ miles on it to my brother, Ken. He brought it over to get the right saddlebag lid to open, I couldn't. The other side works right, but the right doesn't even feel like the cable is hooked up. It won't budge. Any ideas?

Unlocked, the other side opens as it should
Thanks!
How is the cables adjusted when the saddlebag won't open. Are the cables adjusted from the back, or each side. Either way the rear side covers have to come off, but how? The side screws are under the lid.
Chuck
Yes, I know. But the rear side panels are screwed from inside the bag lids> they can't be reached!
Chuck
Try giving the compartment lid a small slap with the palm of your hand. That works for me! Yes, I need to adjust mine but have not gotten around to it.
